Arnout Visser blends a deep understanding of material and historic process with the magic of chemistry. Arnout Visser’s glass blown mushroom lamps rely on a humorous interpretation of the age old technique of glass blowing. Calling to mind both the principles of the Bauhaus and the material pleasures of Venetian glass. In this duality lies both the work’s connection to history and its link to the contemporary."
